Position Overview Job Description We are hiring a Full-time Security Officer for Central Community College in Columbus, NE. Job Details Pay Rate: $19.00 / hour Schedule: Mixed Shift Available / Evening and Overnights Duties: Patrol assigned areas on foot or in specialized vehicles to ensure security of personnel, buildings, and equipment. Requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and security. Qualifications Experience: Prior security experience preferred but not required; customer service background is a plus. Skills: Comfortable using technology devices and possessing a valid driver's license. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand for long periods, and work in all weather conditions. Responsibilities Provide customer service and carry out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities. Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and effectively. Conduct regular and random patrols around the premises; environments may vary by site. Minimum Requirements Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience. Subject to background checks and drug screening as per law. Licensing requirements vary by location and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license required for driving positions.
