Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geophysicist to join a leading team in the energy sector. This position is pivotal for performing comprehensive geological and geophysical risk analyses and resource evaluations across various play types, integrating multiple data sources to spearhead opportunity identification and optimization. The role requires a professional who is adept at mapping and data integration, working collaboratively with engineers and other geoscientists to drive project advancements. Responsibilities: - Perform detailed regional geological and geophysical risk and resource analyses across diverse play types.
- Integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical, and production data to pinpoint and evaluate exploration and development opportunities.
- Create and maintain accurate geologic mapping and other related geologic products to communicate resource potential effectively.
- Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers to assess the economic viability of prospects and contribute to project planning.
- Guide geosteering activities to ensure optimal well placement and maximize reservoir exploitation.
- Work effectively within a team setting to achieve project goals while also capable of operating independently with minimal supervision.
- Utilize advanced software packages for geological mapping and data analysis to support decision-making processes.
- Maintain a high standard of professional and ethical responsibility in the handling of sensitive data and information.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related field is required.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Geology or Geophysics is highly preferred.
- Minimum of three years of professional experience as a Geologist or Geophysicist, specifically in the upstream Oil and Gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience in unconventional resource plays, with preference given to candidates with Delaware Basin experience.
- High proficiency in geological mapping software such as Petra, Geographix, or SMT Kingdom.
- Strong skills in analyzing well logs and understanding petrophysical data.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and presentation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce clear and concise geologic reports.
- Must be a committed team player, ready to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
